Scobleizer: Wow, new Technorati interface moves…

    I think it rocks, I can find new content really quick. Sometimes its nice to find content outside of my Google Reader, Twitter, etc.

    I can see it working better on a more niche topic - there's too much stuff, so it moves too fast. Of course it could move too *slowly* too so applying it to too niche a topic is also possible.

    I have the same problem with twitter in my IM and I'm sure we'll see it in seesmic too.

    That stuff is good. But a lot of the basic functionality they were founded on is working only half. They don't mail back, they don't engage in discussions. These days it is meaningless hype. They just want to sell up. The rest is a poor no.2 in my opinion. They don't care... and we care less and less.

    There are chances here for competitors to take them on and beat them. Do it, there is a market for technorati style blogging stats., etc. when done well.

    Would you do me a favor and stop linking to posts on your own site in your Google Reader Shared Items? I'm not trying to be a jackass, but I really don't like your commentary on your blog - and purposefully unsubscribed to it - but I do like the shared items you link to. There's no need to share your own blog items. If people want to subscribe to it, they can, and others - like me - should just be able to subscribe to your shared items. Would you mind?

    We've launched niche competitors all over the country. Some with partners like blognetwork.knoxnews.com (all blogs in and around Knoxville, TN) and many without www.blognetnews.com/iowa (the best state and local news and politics blogs in Iowa) and www.blognetnews.com/autos (coverage of the auto industry from the blogosphere).

    Each niche is searchable and loaded with stats on comments, links, number of posts etc.

    Nice to see them offer this while at the same time Technorati is proving itself worthless on its core functionality. It's indexing tons of spam blogs so that those who subscribe to searches from Technorati are going to stop using it soon.

    Cool stuff is great for quick buzz for the VC's. But if they were smart, they would get their core house in order first.

    I love it! I think it'll be great for when Google Reader is empty on feeds and I'm in the mood to blog. I wish there was an app to have this on my desktop while being just as speedy!

    Actually this is kind of a good idea .. I think I'll check into see if they have - or are planning - an API access to this. This is something I would probably use as well.
