Vimeo, Viddyou, and Blip are my favs. They all have a good blend of quality, community, ease of use, video blogging tools, and interactivity.

Not a big fan of Viddler, but mostly because it doesn't appeal to how I use online video, I know they're gaining popularity these days.

I saw the seesmic beta and the site is just no good, I don't see it catching on and I'm surprised it's in your favorites. Seems like the attention that site gets can be chalked up to the Valley's echo chamber in overdrive.

I'd go for Blip.tv for the VOD, because of its features and ease of use.

For live and TV experience there is nothing better than Mogulus in my opinion. Nobody comes close to them in terms of features and live streaming.

I'm just now getting into video and my faves are:

1. Viddler (mentioned multiple times above). Why? Because it has tagging in time (and bookmarking in time) and a nice community.

2. Vimeo. It's totally slick and has a great community. Lots of quality stuff there.

3. Blip.tv. Cause I heart the people behind it and they offer multiple download formats.

4. Google Video. For the layout and findability.

What I would LOVE to see is the ability to upload my video and have it play on all of the services...I'm hoping that's what is being funded. :)

I too am a part of the Viddler community - and I love it! They are a bunch of great people there and the staff is wonderful! Last week I had a problem, and they talked me through it via e-mail and personal phone calls. I can't say enough about them!

Another vote for Viddler. I finally got in to Seesmic a couple of weeks ago and I totally don't get it. It doesn't do anything, and what it does, it does badly. It just astonishes me how much hype it is getting for a site that looks like a teenager could put it together in a weekend.

1. For mobile. qik.com for live streaming. Kyte.tv for chat room and overall feature set. I’m looking foward to testing out FlixWagon, which was first talked about today.
2. For community. VIDDLER
3. For TV channels. Mogulus. I’ll be using it from CES to broadcast live. Om Malik’s NewTeeVee conference used them too.
4. For audience. YouTube.
5. For internationalization and captioning. DotSub.
6. For interactivity. VIDDLER
7. For video blogging. VIDDLER
8. For decent quality and easy upload. VIDDLER

You're forgetting the best video site ever, silly. ;) Oh, and I think Mogulus is kind of confusing and not that impressive.

I agree with Colin. For "Community" and "interactivity" it seems Viddler certainly has better tools than those listed. I haven't seen any other services the let you record a video comment directly in the video your watching. (if any do, please LMK)

And Viddler has amazing Groups and granular friend/buddy lists controls that allow you to share with any sub-set of your friends.

Lastly, Viddler is just so fun and easy to use and you can record directly to the browser or upload your own vids. Can't upload with seesmic that I can see.

I've watched and briefly tried seesmic. The video quality is terrible, the video and site are dark and foreboding, and it's simply not fun to use. Viddler even posts to your Twitter account, and more, just like seesmic does.

I wasn't aware of Asterpix, DotSub, or qik, but I don't think I need to check them out when I have Viddler.

Viddler may not have the YouTube audience, but it will. It has such an awesome feature set that it's all I've been using.

You didn't mention Revver, but there isn't much need to seeing as most other video sites now do revenue sharing, and that seems to be Revvers only attraction in my opinion.

BlogTv has the best quality so far! RaunchFoxxx, host of the RaunchFoxxx show on several of these sites including Stickam says that he is happiest with his broadcast as blogTV.com because the quality is so chrystal clear! The audience can view the whole show and nothing but the show and see it again later since blogTV offers recordable broadcasts including the entire chat!

No one can miss the show at blogTV.com

I think the best is http://stage6.com because of the quality. All of these you menchion are of crappy quality, flash streaming or lower. 150kbitps or whatever Kyte, Ustream and Mogulus use is really so much like in the 1990s quality. I think people are having fast enough connections so they want to see at least DVD quality video, maybe even HD quality while you're at it (99% of computer monitors support 720p video) and as far as I know only DivX stage6 is doing that.

Well, I'm voting Blu-Ray, and I'd never hook up a computer to my TV to replace the audio and video components. Those elongated black boxes that are usually shiny that plug into/go along with cable boxes or satellite tivos, yeah those.

Wait a second, are we ignoring XBOX and PS3s? The only reason I have a Blu-Ray is cuz of the ps3 video game console. Anyway, still curious about the other questions.

Most people are quite happy with their Comcast box hooked up to their TV. They don't have a clue that you could put a computer onto your big screen and get a ton of cool stuff (I have photos, videos, music, etc coming off of my MacMini).

What will be sold/pitched on endcaps in Best Buy, Circuit City, et al?

Will there be progress in Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD? Is it an endcap war? Is it a studio war? Will consumers be confused enough to the point of apathy or will it be forced into new computers so it's a seamless and transparent process to force adoption?
