Strange but true.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

I have fooled around with the twitter and have come to the conclusion that I am totally confused about its usefulness.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Wait.. there seems to be a flaw in this logic.

1. Twitter has always been slow.
2. This one time, it wasn't slow.

therefore, twitter is now reliable.

I think only time will tell. Perhaps SXSW just wasn't as big as you thought it was, and there wasn't the as much stress as your other "really important in the valley but nobody on the east coast cares about" conferences were putting on the server.

Just a thought.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

I think using SXSW as a test of Twitter's reliability might be a little out of touch. According to their website, about 7,000 people go. A lot more than 7,000 people watched the Superbowl (or participated in other events that brought twitter down).

I'm not saying they aren't more reliable, but I'm not sure if SXSW is the tough test.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Twitter is fueling our ADHD! One of the downsides of RSS .. I only just noticed.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the move from Joyent to NTT (if I remember correctly). I'd love more details from the Twitter tech team.

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Twitter improved remarkably.Long trend?

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Yep, I agree, it's definitely gotten better. Now would be a good time for them to up the requests/hour to 80, 90 or 100. I go insane if I can't get that many updates/hour.

I'm glad Twitter is doing better now, because without it, I feel 'out-of-the-loop'. Haha :)

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Yep, It's much more reliable, also I've noticed a MASSIVE influx of people following me, anyone else?

Re: Twitter now reliable?

Weird...just about to go into a presentation by Jeff Barr at BarCampBrighton
