Player ain't showing in Firefox or Safari, Robert...
  • Robert Scoble · 3 years ago
    Weird, it's here: http://blip.tv/file/76869

Whatever embedded player you're using doesn't seem to be working (Firefox on the Mac). Could you provide a link to the file?
  • Paul · 3 years ago
Cheers for the direct link :)

Embedded Quicktime can be troublesome (not just from blip.tv). When I post something from Blip to my Wordpress blog, I make sure to wait until Blip has transcoded it to Flash, and then post after the Flash is showing up as the "embedded" player. Much more compatible that way. Plus, blip still gives you a link to the original (Quicktime or whatever) for people to download, and most importantly, to show up as the enclosure in your feed, so that podcatchers can subscribe to you.

Hope that helps - I've fiddled with blip-to-Wordpress posting quite a bit, so let me know if you need any help. Of course, Mike from blip will probably beat me to it. :-)

Josh, thanks, yeah, I was using the post to Wordpress feature over on Blip. I won't use that anymore and will just copy and paste the HTML over. Weird, though, cause it worked fine on Sunday.

Blip is great, but Wordpress.com can be a litte funky with embedded video.

Yeah, I was going to say something about the lack of women too, but that seems pretty typical of blogger dinners that I've been to.
  • Don · 3 years ago
I was just thinking I should go to one of these dinners, but never mind ...
  • Robert Scoble · 3 years ago
Don: everyone is welcome at the dinners I do.
  • Jeremiah Owyang · 3 years ago
Don, not sure why, maybe because it was so last minute.

Shel and I hosted this blogger dinner in SF, there were tons of women there and mixed crowd.

    It was nice meeting you...finally!!!

It was fun to meet everybody last night. It reminds me that I need to get out of my house a little more often. Everytime I drive into the city I'm amazed at how much it has changed and since I live so close, that really shouldn't happen.

hey, sorry to have missed the dinner, though did make the effort, riding the Metra down from the western 'burbs with my bicycle to get me up there, only to find that the Gino's at 930 N. Rush was closed with paper on the windows

had no way of finding out where it was going on, tried checking the Gino's East, but they hadn't heard anything, didn't think to try Giordano's

suggest next time it might be nice to link to someone's blog with details, maybe even post a correction if there's an open invite and the location moves, tia!

was standing on the street trying to use Opera mini on my phone to find out where y'all might be

still had a good time, checked out the experimental jazz Wednesday nights at the Hideout (am the webmaster there) before missing my train home, riding the El as far west as it goes, and riding the bike the rest of the way on silent streets

would be up for trying again, whether or not Robert is in town, if can find out about when and where

Jerome: I'm bummed. We tried to leave a paper on the window that explained where we went. Also my cell phone is always on my blog so you could call me. Unfortunately I'm off to the airport.
  • Jerome Hughes · 3 years ago
s'ok, another time - plumb forgot your cell was on your page, guess as a component of being on two wheels instead of behind a keyboard - d'oh!
