This qik.com website is so lame. I just can't watch any of your videos. I used to watch all of them at your previous website but now this website just won't work. Maybe you can put them on youtube or something. It is a shame that I can't watch your video just because of this bad platform

BBC comments were really interesting. I could almost see the writer contemplating the future effect of these micro-interactive broadcasts on his world.
As this trend takes hold, storage requirements are going to jump yet again. Rather than creating one version of news reporting/analysis, interactive interviews like these will create hundreds or thousands of versions of a story or topic. All video, all needed to be archived and distributed.
The petabyte is the new terabyte!

I have six batteries and four cell phones (two lent to me by Qik and one from Reuters).

Who knew, Robert, when you were driving around in a car hour after hour with the founder of qik beta testing this real-time film over internet technology that a few weeks later you would be at Davos interviewing these few where the elite meat meets meat! I never would have guessed it. Now I see why you were so taken with this camera work. This is great.

Can you elaborate how you managed to see the comments while streaming? I assume you used a second phone to access your comment via web/ email access.

Anyway, nice work!

Now what someone needs to develop a RIA which allows you to edit online streams from sources such as Quik and YouTube into a summary news program... kind of like a Adobe Visual Communicator meets FinalCut.

Anyone know if something like this exists? Hm... if not might have to build one myself and launch my very own web 3.0 business.

Are you trialing the new QiK application? I'm trying to get my paws on it, but can't find anyone for the hookups. Supposedly it gives you even better quality (640x480 over hsdpa, 320x240 over umts).
