I guess the rest of us might as well retire now as well eh :)

Steven: I'll meet you at the Ritz for drinks...

I saw this - surely its a joke, and a pretty good one at that. I'm surprised people actually fell for this. Or it could be a double-fake whammy, and the jokes on us Robert. Quintessentially Jason I guess.

If he's only trolling for attention, then why are you giving it to him with your blog?
  • dawnkey · 1 year ago
I'm not convinced it isn't real, despite Jason's history.

It so happens that I deleted my own blog just last night.

The trolling hate mongers have taken over. Blogging is now quite the opposite of enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to retiring. Where's my bag of loot so I can go???
  • steveballmer · 1 year ago
Sorry, I actually control the blogsphere!

“Quitting blogging” must be a new fad.

I don't think Jason was trolling. Jason is the CEO of a web startup that just isn't proving itself (sorry Jason, it's just not) and that has some serious sharks as investors. He was clearly told to get back to work and focus on the business.

Look who's talking about a publicity stunt. Such irony. The mind boggles.

Remind me again what the definition of Narcissism is.

If Jason is heading in other directions, bully for him. Is the world going to stop spinning? Perspective. Get some.

Didn't Dave Winer claim he was going to retire too? More elitist bullshit.

Hey! What about me? Helloooooo ....
  • Digidave · 1 year ago
I call B.S. for many reasons. But I also think that Jason does point to important issues about the blogosphere.

Calacanis is a master of marketing.
