Not just new Reader accounts though -- wouldn't it also be interesting to see how many people were using the app to find their friends' individual shared items feeds (which as you pointed out have never been terribly apparent), then adding them to Reader? I just did it; it's pretty darned cool. (Except for the part about lots of folks still masquerading as Mario.;))

Hey Robert and Matt,

Here's a stat to pull and discuss at your dinner: the number of Google Reader shared items feeds people added to Google Reader after Robert began spreading the gospel about all this. I can scarcely get my head around the meta-ness of that, but am thrilled I can easily subscribe to my friends' link blogs/shared items right along with their blogs...

Funny aside though: seems to take people awhile to customize the Facebook app to point to *their own* shared items rather than Mario Romero's.

I have followed your suggestion and switched from FeedDemon to Google Reader.

Biggest disappointment is that Google Reader won't allow you to subscribe to Gmail Atom feeds. Whenever this has been questioned in the Google Reader Google Group there has been a deafening silence.

Regarding multiple Facebook posts by Robert, it's the one everybody is talking about where I work, on the radio and on the web so his suggections to make the experience even better are lapped up here.

I'm a bloglines-aholic, it just seems to be easier for what I do(a couple hundred feeds), I've tried Reader a few times, but just don't think it's as easy - with regard to reading on phones, etc...

Is it just the pure amount of feeds you manage that Reader lends itself to?

El Guapo: it's not just me. I read more than 700 feeds and there simply isn't much going on other than iPhone and Facebook stuff. At least not that's interesting.

I've already disclosed who is paying me. Seagate is the only sponsor of my show. I am not paid for my blog comments or opinions and there is no financial remuneration that I get that's dependent on what I write here.

Facebook is simply important and it's happening now. Nothing else is.

Again, what would YOU write about if you were in my position?

Please, what is the deal with facebook obsession? 9 out of every 10 posts in the last couple weeks are facebook this or that. Please disclose who is paying you and how much you are receiving, or maybe this is some ego experiment of yours to see how you can drive popularity of any given site.
