Robert, you don't have to use Lifeblog. They inbuilt online sharing service will post photos directly to Flickr or Vox. If you use the S60 application from www.shozu.com , you can post to a variety of services, including Picasaweb. It's relatively easy to set up and easy to use on the fly.

The killer feature for me is Shozu's online contact backup feature. Provided you give it permission, it will work in the background to automatically update changes to your phonebook with a copy on the Shozu servers. You can then access it via a web interface or re-sync it with your new phone when you upgrade. Essential stuuff, it's already saved my bacon on a fusked firmware upgrade.

Replaced flickr a while back. I am loving SharpCast. It lets me pick who I want to share with and syncs with my hard-drive on several machines (Mac and PC).

I had problems with my Yahoo account earlier this year, but managed to get it going again with support. I use Flickr and prefer a completely online service. That's why I haven't made the switch to Picasa yet, even though I would prefer to use Google.

haha.. i cant upload photos to my flickr account anymore because i reached the 200 photos limit for a free account. Now, I am using webshots, lol.

Robert, I couldn't agree more with you about Yahoo's god awful Captchas. I'm not much of a Flickr user, but when I was asked to link my Flickr and Yahoo accounts together, the captcha I got was so ridiculous, I just had to blog it.

You can see my rant here, along with everyone's attempt at guessing what the captcha spelt out. We'll never know what the correct answer was, but it certainly raised everyone's blood pressure while we tried :S

Has no one come up with an alternative to captchas? I will love this person forever if it's an alternative that's widely adopted! (Assuming it's better than Captchas!)

Yep. Same thing. But on top of that, I got so baffled that I eventually (or Flickr eventually) locked me out of my account altogether. So, I wrote for help asking them to help me get in. They said, 'sorry chump but if you don't remember the 543 pieces of info you used to sign up with, you'll never have access to your photos again.' That was it for me. All my personal photos as well as the photos tagged for sharing by others for Blogswana.org are lost, orphaned. I usually use Photobucket anyway for my blog. I've given up the notion of a photo sharing service thanks to Flickr.

Another cheer here for smugmug. I had the same flickr pro problem last week. I was already mildly annoyed about moving to a Yahoo ID, so I looked around and gave smugmug a try.

For what it's worth, flickr customer support did eventually fix me up and give me the option to reconnect to a new Yahoo ID or delete, but I'd already fallen in love with smugmug, so I chose delete.

I'm still pretty happy with Flickr, as a paying customer who doesn't have to worry about the 200-picture limit anymore.

One of the things I like best about Flickr is the groups: it lets you share your shots with like-minded individuals.

Have you looked at http://Twango.com/? Some friends of mine started it a while back, and the features are pretty good: I've just stayed with Flickr mostly through inertia, and for the groups.

(Note: the Garrett above is not me. Where are all these Garretts coming from all of a sudden?)

Flickr is working fine for me but didn't always. They have great tech support (assuming nothing's broken in their codeware) and people on "z" list blogs like mine get great service. I bet if you send a tech support email, you'll get an answer.

Of course, you could just blog it -- let us know how long before *they* get in touch with *you* and count your blessings.

Have you seen smugmug? They're not free, but they seem to be really good. I saw the guy @ MIX talking about how they use Amazon for storage, and decided to check them out. I'm thinking of moving all my photos there...

Yes, Zooomr is up, but expect it to be pretty buggy and service to be spotty, especially for the first 24 hours. Kristopher and I need to get down to the data center and get a couple more servers online to handle the load.

flickr login is working fine for me. And Zoomr seems to be back up - but more buggy than ever at the moment.

I use flickr as my primary account because it is more stable and my group of family & friends all have their own accounts. Still, zoomr seems to be a good alternative if it ever gets a little more support from some deep pockets....

When Yahoo borked Rebekka G over copyright infringement (search Thomas H's site on Rebekka)... I very publicly closed my Flickr and Yahoo accounts and vowed never to go back. I've stuck to that pledge and will continue to stick to it. Yahoo's a mess right now and Semel's not making it any better. His front line employees are pulling deep and hard on the oars and he's at the rudder steering them in figure 8's as they (and everyone else) lose share to Google.

Valleyway, Techmeme, Technorati... all of them have pointers to disenchanted alums from Yahoo. Methinks the wrong leadership is at the heart of their funk.

since I switched the yahoo key and did not use the email account provided [linking parks :)] I have had t.r.o.u.b.l.e but some time ago I was able to sign on
with the mobile tool but I like to have a quality up on
my photos the mobile wont give that yet..
