  • Sudhakar · 4 years ago
First Comment. Expecting Lots of fun! :-)
  • Sarah · 4 years ago
Just thought I would say welcome to your new site! I like it... :)

Ps. Quick reminder... The London girly geek dinner II is on the 11th October at the Texas Embassy! :)

Just thought I would point it out... and be cheeky and do a bit of blogvertising... (is that a word yet?) It's not my usual style but hey! We have Eileen Brown (MS Evangelist) and Adriana Cronin-Lukas (Big Blog Company) talking on blogging in the business environment!

Look out for the podcast after the event and the reviews from the girls... I will see if I can get the girls to your Geek Dinner... even out those numbers a bit ;)

Welcome Scoble to Wordpress. Nice theme choice, although I feel a little like the rabbit in the headlights ;-)
  • Barry Dorrans · 4 years ago
    There's a search! Finally! A search!
  • JuvGoal · 4 years ago
Congratulations on ur perfect new home.
I hope that I could get an invitation, and have a try!
  • David Hergert · 4 years ago
Nice look. Congratulations. Best of luck with the new blog, I am subscribing right now.
  • Dave Briggs · 4 years ago
Nice choice of blog engine and site design. WordPress themes are so easy to customise - my site originally used the 'Connections' theme too. Good luck with the new blog.
  • BillyG · 4 years ago
"...but you can start subscribing to the RSS feed there to get ready"

    where is the feed link?

    keep having fun!
  • Deansweb2004 · 4 years ago

  • Baro · 4 years ago
    Welcome to wordpress! :D
  • Tom Raftery · 4 years ago
To answer BillyG - there is no Feed link yet - in the meantime you can see the uri for the feed if you view the source of the site. For RSS 2 it is http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/feed/

Robert - you might consider using Subscribe and Help buttons as discussed here:
    http://www.tomrafteryit.net/subscribe-button-ii/

happy to have you at wordpress.com! welcome to wordpress!
  • mVPstar · 4 years ago
    Sweet.
  • Web Feeds · 4 years ago
Just read your post at WebproNews about the comparison search of MSN Google and Yahoo, didnt really note too much what you had to say as one persons view is..well you know the rest.

What i did notice was that MSNs search description came from Zeal and not actually the web pages description, which i did feel weird about!
  • nwistheone · 4 years ago
    welcome to wordpress.
  • Darren · 4 years ago
    Fun!

Hopefully I'll be seeing a lot of that here. :D
  • Don Dodge · 4 years ago
Only Scoble can get 20 responses to a three word post "Here we go" :-)

You are amazing and I will continue to read your posts no matter where you go. You may even convince me to switch too.

    Congrats on the new blog.

  • Matthew Goeden · 4 years ago
Scoble, you are going to change/modify change that theme, right?

I think I have seen that tunnel on like a dozen WP blogs.

(but, really, who uses a web browser to surf blogs anways....)
  • Rob · 4 years ago
Hey Scoble, nice to see you're using wordpress. I found it the other week and like it a lot. Check out my site!

    See ya on Chan9!
  • Damon · 4 years ago
Welcome to WP...and nice theme choice! :-)

    Carry on...
  • Bruce Kasrel · 4 years ago
Nice them, anyone know what tunnel this is... two lane in country where they drive on the right (unless they flipped the image)
  • drumsnwhistles · 4 years ago
Welcome to WordPress! After trying a bunch of different platforms, I consider this one the best. I'm looking forward to reading your blog here.
  • Don Singleton · 4 years ago
Looks good, but you might want to make the trackback link a little more obvious. I almost said I wish you had activated trackbacks, and then I found it
  • Elliott Bäck · 4 years ago
It might be good to at least forward your RSS feeds to scob.wp.com/feed/ so that readers can continue uninterrupted!
  • Andrew · 4 years ago
Excellent. Real Comment. Now you just need someone to make you a kick ass minimalist design.
  • Keyvan Nayyeri · 4 years ago
    Very well;
Just I suggest you using FeedBurner instead of normal RSS feeds to have full stats.
    Did you test Community Server?
  • Ajay Juneja · 4 years ago
    woot :)

    hot blog scoble!
  • Vasanth · 4 years ago
Finally a better looking blog. Have fun.
  • Magus · 4 years ago
Subscribed. When's the big move going to happen?
  • Kevin · 4 years ago
I was thinking about the same theme...looks great. Welcome to WP.
  • Brian Delahunty · 4 years ago
Best of look with the new blog. I wonder how this will affect your technorati rating.
  • "-" · 4 years ago
    Hey! Nice new digs!

As a few have noticed before me, there is no RSS connection here. Gonna have the cable guy do it for ya? Good luck on the appointment!

I think this thing over here- see that there? - is the RSS plug. Now, if you can just get the right kind of connector, we won't have to wait for the installer.

    Got a socket wrench?
  • "-" · 4 years ago
Oh, and while I'm here, there's somebody that wants me to interview you, thinks you're the greatest, not that I disagree at all. Not one bit.

I think the take on this interview is that you're like number one. So my first question would be -- what the heck, it is my first question -- Who's number two? Who do you think is the next best blogger. No false modesty, just who's best besides you? You've got my address, e-mail me.

Oh, and here's a topic that you might be interested in: http://wordpress.org/tags/rss. Hey! This is a class place. You can even subscribe to the topic. Pretty swanky.

Just in case you wanna learn more about the RSS thing, subscribe to: http://wordpress.org/support/rss/tags/rss and they'll pipe it right in here for ya. Wow.

Just thought I should help with the movin', since I'm here anyway. I know how it is, movin'.

    Hey Scoble,
Great news...any reasons why you've changed to word press...i Know even i am moving out to wordpress soon...i got my free account recently :) Well i look forward to seeing more fun happening in this place!...
  • Matthew · 4 years ago
Cool! Format pleasing to the eye.

The picture up top looks a little fuzzy, and we don't want anyone to think you're unclear or abstract (whereas that's a plus on my blog).

the "sharpen" filter in Photoshop helped a little, but maybe it's just a placeholder for a higher-res...
  • Tom Raftery · 4 years ago
    Ah Robert,

you're not going to keep that header image, are you? It is a terrible picture of you - you are squinting, probably 'cos the sun is in your eyes (?).

Surely you can get a better pic for the header image - in my own case, I used Kubrickr (http://www.redalt.com/Tools/kubrickr.php) to automatically find a Flickr image and crop it to the correct size for my Wordpress theme.

    HTH,

    Tom
  • Bernie Goldbach · 4 years ago
Scoble launches scobleizer.com and at least three maggots create hoax sites on the derivative spellings of the scoble URL. But they don't have RSS feeds so you know they're fakes.
  • Ric · 4 years ago
    Dear Robert Scoble,

I would like to ask your help with a problem I have with WordPress.Com
This is not a technical issue, but more of a person problem.

I sent an email, but I do not know if it will pass your spam filters, so I put the story up at
    http://free.wordpress.com/

Why am I asking for your help?
I am a professional consultant working on Microsoft technologies for more than 15 years, and I am an avid reader of your blog. In fact, one of the most popular OpenDomains is http://Xaml.Net , the #1 domain in ALL search engines for the keyword 'xaml'. I am very proud of OpenDomain, and the work I do to promote sharing code, and I would like to ask you if you can contact Matt at m@mullenweg.com or http://photoMatt.Net . I am not asking for you to take my 'side', just ask for him to contact me so we can resolve this issue.

    Thank you,
    Ric Johnson

This blog theme is such a rip-off of OSX!!!
  • Tom Raftery · 4 years ago
    Sorry zac hipster,

I'm running OS X 10.4.2 and viewing this site and I see no similarity whatsoever between the two.
  • Paul Worthington · 4 years ago
Same here, running Mac OS X 10.4.2 and I can't imagine how anyone could think this theme ("Connections" from vanillamist.com) bears any resemblance to OS X.
  • Gerry Humphrey · 4 years ago
With the original header graphic, it made me think of XBOX360.
  • zac hipster · 4 years ago
Clearly you are a bunch of M$ shills.

A proper OSX user sees brushed metal everywhere!

In fact Steve Jobs' neolithic ancestor invented that finish before metal was invented!
  • theroxylandr · 4 years ago
How did you change the picture? Trick? Hack? Bribery?
  • John · 4 years ago
Welcome to this very choice neighbourhood.

Hey, how did you get a personal header? I'd love one of those on SYNTAGMA 2.0..

    Good luck with the blog.
  • Timbo · 4 years ago
Hey Robert, where are you ? I was expeting loads of posts here, rather than on radio ...
  • jessicaelizabeth · 4 years ago
Yeah, I wanted to ask about that too... how did you get the customized header?
  • pipit · 4 years ago
Yeah, i wander too, how did you got the header ?
  • polizeros · 4 years ago
I too have several blogs, my main one is in Radio, the others in WP and MT.

All have advantages and disadvantages. However I've been pondering moving m Radio blog to WP.

For those with Radio, moving the Radio entries to a new blog can be simple. Coverting Radio entries to another platform is messy, moving them isn't.

    1) create new blog on new server
    2) make a folder, call it Radio
    3) in Radio, publish the entire Radio site to this new folder.
    4) put a link on the home page of the new site, call it Radio Archive, pointing to this new folder.

Your Radio blog with all entries will be there exactly as it was in Radio. (I haven't tested this, but see no reason it shouldn't work.)
  • Doug Carmichael · 4 years ago
I actually like the minimalism of the Radio site
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/

In Windows IE much easier to read, in fact compared to most, a real pleasure.
  • scobleizer · 4 years ago
Doug: hey, how do you like this?
  • bruno · 4 years ago
Hey, why can you custoimize your template here at wordpress.com and I can't? Just because you are Scoble and I'm nobody? heh...:)
