Scobleizer: FastCompany.TV launches

  • Ali · 1 year ago
Really great job. Especially on the Telescope episode. This project looks fantastic and can't wait to try it out for myself. Considering how huge MS is, it's great to see that small teams are allowed to "follow their dreams" and come up with some real innovation.

Don't mean to double post, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your presenting style. After, what, 1,00+ interviews, you still come off with genuine interest and enthusiasm, and I just enjoy seeing how personable you are with your 'subjects' - I think this is why I enjoy watching your interviews - you ask the sort of questions we would ask.

Good Luck:)...btw, Where is the iTunes link?
  • Robert Scoble · 1 year ago
zx: I'll get that for you soon.

Ali: I know the Telescope video will be the most popular, but the John Kao interview was actually the best one, both Rocky and I believe (he produced Sex, Lies, and Videotape, and did a lot of other stuff, including teaching business at Harvard for 14 years). Thank you for your kind words!

Are you going to be putting the Mahalo one up? really interested in seeing how they use Google Apps
  • Robert Scoble · 1 year ago
Piers, yes, that's another one coming soon. Sorry for leaving that off the list.

    Hi Robert,
Is there a podcast feed for your shows? The 'subscribe' link at http://www.fastcompany.tv/scobleizer-tv doesn't seem to be it.

    Thanks
    Jamie

Congrats on the launch Robert! It looks really good... This is very exciting! I hope that you guys do other show that are not like most of the shows on the web yet attract a large audience. Good luck moving forward!

    mazel tov!

In theory this sounds interesting, but introducing something like this in 2008 that isn't cross-browser compatible is kinda lame. There aren't that many browsers to test/develop for, nor any a big investments required to get 'em, so I would at least expect that someone as technoligy focused as FC.tv to have the major players in the market covered.

Expecting me to switch to a different browser /just/ to view a video simply doesn't work. I have a hard time understanding how you can treat your audience (and their choice of OS, browser, etc) with such little respect. It's not like I'm using an obscure browser that does things in a proprietary and/or non-standards way. Sorry to be so harsh, but this really does annoy me. Especially considering all the talk on your blog about silos, interoperability, openness and data-portability...

Obviously i should have used the spell-checker that's easily available in my browser. Either that or I should managed to type "technology" correctly in the first place. Ah well, I could always excuse myself with English not being my native language, though hopefully the point comes across regardless of my silly typo...
  • Robert Scoble · 1 year ago
John: what browser/OS are you using? We tested on Mac and Windows and Firefox and IE and Safari and it works here on all of those.
  • Simon Brocklehurst · 1 year ago
Robert, at least for me, the videos don't work in Firefox 3 beta 3 on Vista. All works fine in IE though.

Congrats on the launch. Looking forward to see how Fastcompany.tv develops...
  • Robert Scoble · 1 year ago
Simon, weird, cause that's the browser/OS combination I'm currently using and it works fine here. Do you have the latest Flash Plugin? I know I just upgraded mine a week ago.
  • marcel weiß · 1 year ago
Robert, can you please look into the feed and make it work on miro?
your podtechshow used to work just fine.
  • Simon Brocklehurst · 1 year ago
Robert - I updated to the latest version of Flash, as per your suggestion. That fixed it. Works fine now. Thanks!
  • John Magnus · 1 year ago
Robert, although you sort of answered your own question. ;-) I'm using Opera...

    Tested with;
-Opera 9.26 on XP with Flash 9.0.115
-Opera 9.50 (beta) on XP with Flash 9.0.115

With both, clicking the "trigger image" simply swaps it for a black static image (or html contents)...

Congratulations Robert, this is going be really cool! I like the two channels of higher quality videos and Qik videos. Best of luck, I think you're on to something!
  • Mrinal · 1 year ago
    Congrats again Robert!

The key I think will be to differentiate and bring new/fresh faces to us - the tech guys are mostly the same and the same are all over the place :)

There is a lot going on in this world and a lot of cool people - not all with 'celebrity' status. Its your job to make them so :)

Robert, I can't leave you alone for a week or two and you change your life AGAIN?

    Tsk tsk tsk.

As a personal favor, when you redesign your blog, could you put in an actual font hint this time? I am so sick of Times New Roman it is not even funny.

Heh. I had to look it up, but I actually said that just days ago:
    http://www.dancingbunnies.com/archive/2008/02/2...

Here's an open invitation to come out to the valley. People throw "echo chamber" at you for a reason. Come on out, and I'll show you.

doesn't look like the team at scobleizertv are ready. let's all meet back here again in a month and see how things are going...
  • seattlenewbie · 1 year ago
Look forward to checking out the show (I am at work now), I just hope you fixed your sound issues. I don't want to have to camp out on the volumn control during your shows... ;-)

Looks like you will have a lot more interesting interviews coming up. Hopefully Steve Jobs too.
