Scobleizer: EyeJot wins “cool” praise

  • John Wilson · 2 years ago
This looks to be a copycat of www.Springdoo.com which launched out of NZ about 6 months ago, albeit without their humour. They also offer the ability to create springcasts which are video messages that you can embedd in webpages including your own blog.

Bizarre that eyejot home page gives no explanation as to what exactly they offer/do.

Yes, but is it cooler than http://twango.com/? :-)

Springdoo is a cool product. Unfortunately, they're not compatible with some browsers. Also, we try and differentiate ourselves with our mobile support (unidirectional today, but next month....) and our iTunes/iPod integration. Our hosted mode, too, is a useful feature for people participating in social networks. Give it a try, please. We'd love to hear your feedback and make Eyejot even better.

If you like eyeyjot you’ll love gabmail and gabjam (www.freegabmail.com). Just like eyeyjot there’s no download required but there’s also no registration required so you just hit the site and away you go. You can send unlimited numbers of messages of up to 2 minutes for free and every message is threaded so you have one-click access to every video in the thread. And you can send messages from any email client or webmail program.

Just discovered this - wow this thing rocks ! Much much cooler than voicemail and for me who a) lives away from my family b) travels a lot this will be cool for just quick messages. I love the RSS capability via iTunes. This means I can get my media messages on my Zune - w00t !

Check out Vidagram, it does the same thing as eyejot. It will allow users to send video email directly to other peoples email.

Eyejot is a bit different in that it's an inbox. While we utilize email for some notification features, it's not required and our desktop widgets, gadgets and taskbar notifiers will alert people to the receipt of new video messages. The inbox functionality allows us to offer embeddable versions that sit comfortably on social networking sites, blogs and regular web pages. We also record directly from the browser using any webcam. And, we're syncing directly to RSS readers and iTunes/iPods and now supporting mobile devices. There are a lot of great video products out and coming out - but they're all different, serving different needs. Many complimentary to one another.

Yes, i agree - your judgement is clouded.

www.springdoo.com is much better - haven't witnessed any browser problems at all, its a great service.
