It's right back to the recent conversations about whether ideas are easy or not. If they were that easy to come up with, Flickr would have done this long ago.

Glad you found out about PXN8 Robert, it really is a terrific little service. In fact I was so impressed when I was reviewing it recently for "Web2.0 Ireland" that I said "Move over Picasa - PXN8 is here!" Obiouvly PNX8 is much more compatible with GMail than Picasa.

I was just thinking about how often I say to myself "boy, I wish I could do all my photo editing in my browser, where my effects run orders of magnitude slower than in Photoshop/MS Paint, and I can look at the pretty AdSense content whilst I work."
This software needs to not exist.

Photoshop? Idontthinkso. Try some sharewareish Photo Editing something. And gosh darn it runs DIRT slow, I think I will stick with Photoshop and Paint Shop, thankyouverymuch. This software needs to not exist, indeed.
This web as a platform thing produces quite some de-evolutionary mash-ups. Maybe good for the extreme casual web user that doesn't mind waiting, or good with some blogger-like service, but outside of that I don't see much of a market. Could always fool the Ray Ozzie Windows Live and Google goons into wrapping Ad Content around it and calling it the next wave future.

This is a Good tool for quick edits, but there are dozens of others that also do interesting things...
Some can create Animated Gifs online from your image or Text . and some can allow the creation of Banners or Font Graphics with any Jpg Gif or PNG image you can upload...

I have something similar to this as an ASP.NET server control. I've been working on it for a while and then I saw Scoble's link... Anyway, this may be of interest. It has a slightly different focus from the tool mentioned here - it's more intended as a component in a CMS or similar.
The 'new twist' is that members can request a voice chat with each other--anytime, anywhere--all they need is a microphone and headphones.
Perform a search, find someone you like--request a voice chat if they are online.
Friends who are miles apart can use the site to search each other by username and voice chat, saving them long distance charges.
So this site is twofold: allows people to meet people and engage in either voice or text chat; it also allows people to use the site as a vehicle to save on long distance charges.
And there is no cost. Ever. 100% free.
This idea was sparked by the success of plentyoffish.com out in the west coast.
As a programmer, I can utilize my skill to develop the site. How do I attract users to come to my site from other well-established sites?
Offer something different--the free voice chat--although it is not something new--I believe my website will be the first to offer this absolutely free to everyone. Both for people meeting people and people saving in long distance charges.
My only problem is how to market the site. How do get members to sign up without losing their interest due to the fact there are no members currently enrolled?

Well, I will agree with you regarding the Stones ; However , this tool is not as advanced as Flxr ( Photobuckets Editor ) - I would say that one can create many more effects with the Photbucket editor . Now if you would like to go the extra distance as far as ' Free Online Image Tools " are concerned , you should really check out MyTheme Online Editor . Now that can be truly compared to a Free Version Photoshop & Chop ! Once you familiarize yourself with all of the editing options given , you would be amazed at what you can create . All it takes is a little patience , tenacity & imagination + a little helping of ' creativity ' and voila , you can produce a masterpiece .
