Well I can't come to you're little gathering, not unless I suddenly get the time off work and a few hundred £'s to get the plane from the UK to USA.
Udo, I'll probably be driving through Spokane and will have an extra seat! I was hoping not to have to come back to Washington, though, but wouldn't mind going out of my way.
"OffTheGrid" should always be suffixed by (TM)or Trademark. This gives notice to the public of your intention to eventually file for Federal name protection with the Patent and Trademark Office. If you eventually put the name on a Shirt, cup or whatever, tell the graphic artist, printer, etc, to always affix the symbol (TM) in the circle. But, never put the (R) for registered in the circle until you actually receive a trademark registration number from the Patent and Trademark office.
When you file your application for a trademark, select the purpose category of: "Intentions to use the name is a trade or business". This gives you more leeway to prove that you are actually satisfying the requirements for using the name in a trade or business, rather than choosing the option: "Presently using the name (or mark) in a trade or business.
