Scobleizer: An ode to great photographers

  • Payton Glass · 2 years ago
I really hope all those who taught you all of that, feel honoured with this thrilling images. They should be.

I'll start with Paul Sakuma. He works for the Associated Press. He gave me his Nikon F2, which I still treasure to this day.

But this really is due to all my teachers, most importantly, Mr. Browning, who was my photo teacher at Prospect High School back in 1982 and 83. Ahh, I still remember that smell of Dektol.

You've learned some valuable things, and it shows in your photos. Congratulations!

I've created an eBook of the things photography's taught me, about taking pictures and life itself, and put it in my public folder on SkyDrive. If you're in the mood sometime, you can take a look. I'm not Thomas Hawk, but some folks have told me it's worthwhile reading and they enjoy it though they didn't expect to.

Here it is if you're interested:

Look at this collection - they are a little saturated, but captivating none the less

That's the thing about great photographers - they "see" things in a different way - different than one normally looks at things and by doing so they extend your own vision.

What a great post and what fantastic pictures.
My son, Adam has recently finished college where he studied Photography and Website Design, he is 21 and has just started as a professional photographer, he uses a Nikon D80 and features on Flickr, he has also designed and created quite a few websites, including his own website, the city's theatre website and of course my website.
I will email this post to him, he will be thrilled.
Again, thank you for the great post and thank you for helping me to find a way of motivating my son.

Now all you need is a photographer to teach you about lighting and exposure and you're well on your way.
